FedEx Shipping Label Printing – WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx FAQs

Print FedEx shipping labels individually or in bulk for WooCommerce orders

Questions in this section:

Will the custom add-on that prints WooCommerce order notes on FedEx labels maintain compatibility with future WooCommerce, WordPress, or PluginHive plugin updates?

The custom add-on is designed to function with current versions of WooCommerce, WordPress, and the PluginHive FedEx plugin and will continue working unless there is a major update that affects the involved systems. In such cases, PluginHive provides 90 days of support and updates to ensure compatibility and address any issues arising from software changes. It is important to carefully review all customization details before purchase, as the add-on is non-refundable. Maintaining close communication with PluginHive support during your major version updates is recommended to ensure ongoing functionality.

Why does the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx not print more than 4 labels at a time, and how can I resolve this issue?

The issue of not being able to print more than 4 labels at a time typically occurs due to problems with the plugin license activation not being properly linked to your FedEx account registration. To resolve this:

  1. Log in to your WooCommerce admin panel.
  2. Navigate to **FedEx Shipping > License Activation**.
  3. Deactivate the current plugin license.
  4. Re-activate the plugin license again.
  5. Re-register your FedEx account within the plugin’s settings during the activation process.

This will ensure that the license is correctly linked to your FedEx account, which should remove the "Forbidden" error and allow you to print multiple labels without restrictions.

Why does the FedEx DocTab section only allow printing 19 characters per line for custom text such as WooCommerce order notes, while the FedEx website allows about 30 characters?

The FedEx API, which the PluginHive plugin uses to generate shipping labels, restricts address lines in the DocTab section to a maximum of 19 characters including spaces. Furthermore, each line automatically begins with a colon (":"), which reduces the effective space for content. This limitation is imposed by FedEx’s technical requirements for label formatting and cannot be changed or bypassed by the PluginHive plugin. While the FedEx website interface may allow entering longer text visually, the actual shipping label data transmitted via the API adheres to the stricter 19-character limit.

Why do some orders fail when bulk printing FedEx shipping labels from the WooCommerce orders screen, and how should I handle this issue?

  1. Avoid bulk printing FedEx labels directly from the orders screen until the feature is fully supported.
  2. Instead, print shipping labels individually for each order via the individual order page, where label generation is stable and reliable.
  3. PluginHive is working on developing their own library to support bulk printing functionality properly, but there is no ETA available yet.
  4. Meanwhile, monitor PluginHive’s support channels for updates regarding this functionality improvement.

  • If you do not see the button or options to print labels, verify you are using the correct plugin version and have completed required setup steps under the “General” and “Shipping” tabs.
  • Detailed instructions and current video tutorials should be obtained from PluginHive official support or documentation, as some third-party videos may refer to outdated or unrelated features.
  • Contact PluginHive support directly with a Diagnostic Report if the label printing interface is missing despite correct plugin installation and setup.

What should I consider before purchasing the custom add-on to print WooCommerce order notes on the FedEx DocTab section?

  1. The FedEx DocTab text is limited to 19 characters per line, and the label will automatically prefix each line with a colon (:), which cannot be removed.
  2. Multi-line text is supported if the notes exceed 19 characters, but formatting and length restrictions remain.
  3. The customization cost is $400 (non-refundable).
  4. The estimated development and delivery timeframe is approximately 15 business days after purchase.
  5. PluginHive provides 90 days of support post-delivery to address compatibility issues with platform updates.
  6. Review and confirm acceptance of these constraints to ensure the add-on fits your client’s requirements.
  7. If unsure, engage directly with PluginHive support for clarifications before proceeding.

What immediate steps should I take if I encounter issues printing FedEx labels in bulk on my WooCommerce site?

For now, please refrain from generating or printing FedEx labels via the bulk action feature within the plugin to avoid errors. Instead, print labels individually for each order if possible. Is the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label compatible with PHP 8.3?

The WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label has been tested and confirmed compatible with PHP versions up to 8.2. Is it possible to manually hide or mask the Shipper Information on FedEx shipping labels printed from the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin?

No, there is no manual or plugin-based option to hide the Shipper Information on the label. FedEx requires certain shipment details, including shipper information, to be visible on the label for shipment acceptance and processing. Tampering with or manually hiding details on generated labels is not recommended and may result in FedEx rejecting the shipment. If masking is essential, users must contact FedEx directly to explore any potential options.

How does the PH WooCommerce Shipping for Custom Product Fields addon work with the Uni CPO plugin to calculate shipping rates and print labels?

  1. Install and activate the addon (Version 1.0.0).
  2. Map the Uni CPO custom option keys for weight, length, width, and height within the addon’s settings. This ensures the addon fetches the correct dynamic measurements at checkout.
  3. Ensure you have the compatible versions of PluginHive’s shipping plugins: UPS (v6.1.5) or TForce (v1.0.3).
  4. For FedEx, support with Uni CPO is included starting from version 7.1.1 (released Sept 16, 2024) and must be installed separately.
  5. Test the integration in a staging environment after updating all plugins to their latest versions to verify dynamic shipping calculations and label printing work correctly.

How do I print shipping labels using the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin? Can I use my existing Zebra printer?

The plugin supports label printing directly from WooCommerce, allowing you to print labels on your existing Zebra hardware without needing additional equipment or configurations.

How do I print shipping labels using a Zebra ZD421 printer with the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin?

  1. Create a new shipping label order within your WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin interface.
  2. Use the “PDF” option to generate the shipping label, since Zebra printers do not support printing ZPL format files directly.
  3. Download the PDF label and print it using the standard PDF viewer on your computer.
  4. Refer to the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin setup guide for detailed configuration instructions: https://www.pluginhive.com/knowledge-base/setting-woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin/#Navigate_plugin

Do I need any other WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin to print shipping labels after purchasing the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin?

No, you do not need any other WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin. The PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin is an all-in-one solution that fully automates FedEx shipping. It displays shipping rates on the cart and checkout pages, enables you to pay postage, print shipping labels directly within WooCommerce, automatically determines the right boxes for packing items, and supports shipment tracking. This plugin alone manages all FedEx shipping functionalities, so no additional plugin is required. For setup and generating shipping labels, you can follow the detailed guide here: https://www.pluginhive.com/knowledge-base/setting-woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin/

Can the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin be configured to completely automate printing labels on a thermal printer without manual steps?

No, the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin does not have built-in functionality to automate thermal printer printing directly. Labels must be downloaded or displayed in-browser and then printed manually using your operating system’s print features. Automating thermal printer output would require an additional custom solution or third-party integration outside the plugin. The plugin focuses on generating the labels and providing options to download or display labels for user-controlled printing.

Can I use the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin to display FedEx collection locations in the order without using FedEx's native pricing or label printing services, and instead link postage costs to my own table rates?

Yes, you can achieve this with the plugin by using the price adjustment feature. This allows you to override FedEx's native pricing with your own table rate shipping costs. Additionally, you can enable the FedEx HOLD at Location service to display collection points to customers. This setup lets you present FedEx collection locations for pickup while charging postage according to your custom pricing structure, independent of FedEx’s label printing or pricing system. For a practical demonstration, you can visit the plugin demo here: https://shipping-automation-demo.pluginhive.com/?hash=ec10e38356980502e191007aa81127f7

Is it necessary to re-import orders after updating the FedEx WooCommerce plugin to address label printing errors?

No, re-importing orders is not necessary after updating the FedEx WooCommerce plugin. Order data remains intact and accessible through the plugin without requiring re-import. Updating the plugin version will not affect existing order imports or data synchronization. You can continue working with your existing orders post-update. The focus should be on managing bulk label printing batches to avoid the PDF parsing error issue, rather than re-importing orders.

Is it mandatory to include the shipper's contact number in the shipping label generated by the PluginHive FedEx plugin, and can this number be hidden or masked?

Yes, the FedEx API requires the shipper’s contact number to be included for generating shipping labels. This contact information is necessary for shipment processing and compliance with FedEx standards. Currently, the PluginHive FedEx plugin does not provide an option to hide or mask the shipper’s phone number on shipping labels because this data is transmitted as part of the official shipping label details.

If you prefer not to display the shipper contact number visibly on the label, this is subject to FedEx’s policies and restrictions, which are beyond PluginHive’s control. An open query has been raised with FedEx regarding this, and any updates from their side will be communicated to users. Until then, ensure the shipper phone number is entered correctly in plugin settings to avoid label generation errors.

International shipping label generation sometimes fails using the plugin. How can I help diagnose and fix this?

  1. In your plugin settings, go to the General tab and enable "Debug Mode."
  2. Attempt to generate the shipping label for an international order again.
  3. Navigate to the "Help & Support" page within the plugin settings.
  4. Submit a Diagnostic Report via the provided option; this report helps the support team analyze the issue.
  5. Provide the reference number associated with the diagnostic report to the PluginHive support team for quicker assistance.

If my client receives 10 new orders, what steps must they follow to create and print FedEx shipping labels and manage shipments using the PluginHive FedEx plugin?

  1. Ensure the PluginHive FedEx plugin is configured to auto-generate labels upon order placement or manually generate labels from the order details page.
  2. Access **WooCommerce > Orders** in the WordPress admin panel.
  3. Select all new orders requiring shipping labels by checking their checkboxes.
  4. From the “Bulk Actions” dropdown, select “Print FedEx Shipping Label” and click “Apply” to download all labels in one PDF.
  5. Open the downloaded file and send it to your label printer.
  6. After printing, schedule FedEx pickup requests as needed through PluginHive or FedEx directly to ensure shipments are collected.

If I skip printing commercial invoice labels, do I need to enable Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) in the plugin settings for FedEx to electronically submit commercial invoices?

  1. Go to the plugin settings and navigate to the "International Forms" tab.
  2. Enable the "ETD" (Electronic Trade Documents) option.
  3. Upload your "Company Logo" and "Digital Signature" in the same "International Forms" tab, as these are required components for electronic submission.
  4. Ensure your FedEx account has the ETD service activated; without this, electronic submission will not function.

If I purchase and install the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label, can I use my client's negotiated FedEx shipping rates in the plugin?

Yes, the plugin allows you to register your own FedEx account within its settings. By connecting your client's FedEx account—where negotiated rates are already set up—the plugin will display those negotiated shipping rates directly to customers during cart and checkout. Additionally, the plugin fully automates FedEx shipping by providing live rate calculations, postage payment, label printing, automatic box packing based on the order, and shipment tracking from within WooCommerce. For more detailed information and set up instructions, you can refer to the product page here: https://www.pluginhive.com/product/woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin-with-print-label/

If I only use PluginHive for shipping fee calculation and not for shipping label printing, will configuring the packaging method still help in returning the correct shipping fee?

Yes, configuring the packaging method is essential even if you only use the plugin to calculate shipping fees. The packaging settings ensure that the plugin considers product dimensions and weight accurately when requesting rates from FedEx, thus reflecting correct shipping costs including oversize or special charges. You can verify and compare these calculated rates against FedEx.com to confirm accuracy.

If I need a multi-carrier solution that supports both live rates and shipping label generation, what should I do?

You should use a different multi-carrier solution offered by PluginHive that supports fetching live shipping rates as well as generating shipping labels and tracking numbers. The current Multi-Carrier Shipping Plugin does not include these features. Contact PluginHive support for guidance on this alternative solution.

If I do not generate FedEx shipping labels for orders, will customers still be charged for shipping?

Yes, customers are charged for shipping at checkout as part of your WooCommerce payment process, regardless of when you generate FedEx labels. The payment collected (including shipping fees) goes to your payment gateway/account—not FedEx. Your FedEx account is only charged when you generate shipping labels for the respective orders. Simply put:

  • Customers pay shipping costs at purchase.
  • Your FedEx account incurs charges only when you generate shipping labels.
  • If you do not generate a label immediately, customers are still charged, but FedEx is not billed until label creation.

I renewed my subscription via Order ID 196159, but I cannot see an updated API key for the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label. Why is this, and how can I get a new API key?

When you renew an existing subscription, PluginHive does not generate a new API key because your current subscription remains active with the same credentials. The subscription you renewed is active until the noted expiry date (e.g., June 2, 2027). If you require a new license with a different API key, you must purchase a new plugin license directly from the product page:

WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label
Renewals extend your current subscription but do not create new API keys.

I have enabled the Estimated Delivery Date option in the FedEx plugin, but the setting label appears in Spanish and looks different from the reference screenshot. How can I ensure the setting I activated is correct?

  1. Verify that you enabled the option located under FedEx Shipping → Settings → Rates & Services section.
  2. The option usually mentions something closely related to “Estimated Delivery Date” or “Fecha estimada de entrega.”
  3. If you need assistance verifying, switch your WordPress admin language temporarily to English by going to Users → Your Profile → Language, and select English (United States).
  4. Log out and log back in to see the plugin settings in English.
  5. Confirm the enabled option matches the English reference.
  6. You can then switch back to Spanish if preferred.

How was the label generation issue resolved for order #22412 despite phone number requirements?

  1. They confirmed that with a valid phone number (even a dummy), label generation succeeds.
  2. They suggested that you can void that dummy label and generate a new label after updating the order with the actual phone number.

How to ensure FedEx shipment label generation works properly after connectivity issues with the PluginHive plugin?

  1. Verify your FedEx account details and API credentials are correct and fully registered in the plugin.
  2. Confirm the plugin license is active and properly linked to your FedEx account by re-activating if needed.
  3. Check that all required shipping address fields, especially the ship-to phone number, are correctly filled in orders.
  4. Use the plugin’s built-in Debug Mode to collect logs if label generation fails.
  5. Provide PluginHive support specific order numbers and diagnostic reports if assistance is needed.

How should I proceed if I want to test shipment label generation for new orders after troubleshooting issues with the PluginHive FedEx WooCommerce plugin?

  2. If you are within the 30-day refund window and eligible, request a refund. Ensure that any payment disputes (e.g., Stripe disputes) are withdrawn to allow smooth refund processing.
  3. Upon confirmation, PluginHive will cancel your subscription to stop any future billing.
  4. Remove or deactivate the plugin from your WooCommerce setup as per your preference.
  5. If you need help with uninstalling or troubleshooting post-cancellation, contact PluginHive support for guidance.

How is the billing for FedEx waybills generated via PluginHive’s WooCommerce label generation system handled, and how can I track or report on these shipments?

  1. Use the Tracking IDs generated with each label to monitor shipment status on the FedEx website.
  2. Consult your FedEx billing statements to see charges for all generated waybills grouped per billing period.
  3. For detailed billing schedules or account-specific queries, contact your FedEx account representative directly.

How is the "Sold To" information handled on the Commercial Invoice generated by the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label, and can it be separately specified from the "Exporter" or "Importer"?

The FedEx plugin automatically fills in the EXPORTER, CONSIGNEE, and IMPORTER fields on the Commercial Invoice based on your shipping and company data. However, it does not have a separate or dedicated "Sold To" field distinct from these. Typically, the EXPORTER field is used to represent the party selling the goods ("Sold To"), but this depends on your business context. Since there is no separate "Sold To" entry in the plugin’s invoice, you should ensure that the EXPORTER details entered in your plugin settings correctly reflect your "Sold To" information if you want it to appear on the invoice.

If you require a different or additional designation such as "Sold To" separate from EXPORTER or IMPORTER, this is not configurable within the current plugin functionality. To clarify and verify how this appears to customs authorities or on FedEx documents, it is recommended to:

1. Compare the Commercial Invoice generated by the plugin with one generated directly via FedEx.com, which allows more customizable fields.

2. Confirm what specific information you want shown as "Sold To" and where it should appear.

3. Monitor any customs clearance issues with your shipments using the current invoice format.

If you experience customs delays or require specific invoice layout changes, sharing the invoice documents with PluginHive support can help in providing tailored assistance or feature recommendations.

How does the PluginHive FedEx plugin handle the Country of Manufacture information when generating shipping labels and commercial invoices?

The PluginHive FedEx plugin automatically passes the Country of Manufacture information to the FedEx API when generating shipping labels directly within your WooCommerce site. Once you generate a shipping label through the plugin, the commercial invoice will be included and will display the Country of Manufacture for the shipment. This ensures accurate customs documentation without manual entry, as long as the shipping label is created through the plugin interface.

How does the new auto-renewal system for the FedEx print label plugin work?

The auto-renewal system automatically renews your plugin subscription at the end of each billing cycle, beginning with your next expiry date. You do not have to manually renew it anymore. Your payment method on file will be charged automatically to continue uninterrupted service. This change ensures continuous access to the plugin without manual subscription management. If you prefer to opt out or cancel, you will need to do so before the renewal date.

How does PluginHive respond to requests for restricting plugin access to FedEx shipment label features for roles like Shop Manager and Administrator?

PluginHive acknowledges requests for restricting access to FedEx shipment label features, but currently, there is no feature to disable or limit these pages for Shop Manager or Administrator roles individually. They have noted such requests for possible feasibility checks in the future but have no immediate plans or implementations. Users needing this restriction must currently manage access via WooCommerce user roles and permissions external to the plugin itself.

How does billing work for FedEx return labels generated through the PluginHive integration? Do I pay at label generation or later?

You are not billed when a return label is generated. FedEx bills you only when the return label is **used**, meaning after the package with the return label is scanned by FedEx during pickup or drop-off. The key points are:

  1. Return labels can be generated without immediate charge.
  2. Charges apply only when FedEx processes the package with the return label.
  3. Any weight/dimension discrepancies will be adjusted and billed automatically upon shipment.

To get precise billing details on return shipments, consult your FedEx Billing Online account or contact your FedEx representative for specifics about your account and billing setup.

How do I verify that FedEx shipping rates and shipment label generation are working properly after plugin updates?

After updating the plugin and registering your FedEx account using the REST API method, test retrieving FedEx shipping rates on your WooCommerce store and generate shipping labels within order processing. This confirms the functionality is restored and working as expected. It is recommended to perform these tests during planned downtime or in a staging environment to avoid disruption on your live site. If any issues arise during testing, contact PluginHive support for further assistance.

How can I verify and reconcile shipping charges when there is a discrepancy between the amount shown during label generation and the FedEx invoice?

To reconcile differences between the rates shown while purchasing labels and the FedEx invoice:

  1. Ensure that the package dimensions and weight entered for each shipment are accurate and consistent with the actual parcels shipped.
  2. Confirm you are using FedEx live rates without overriding them with flat or free shipping options in PluginHive settings.
  3. Understand that some surcharges or adjustments may apply after shipment processing, which FedEx incorporates in the final invoice.
  4. Since PluginHive does not store label price details, use the invoice provided by FedEx as the official source to verify charges.
  5. If necessary, contact FedEx directly with the label number and invoice details for disputes or clarifications, providing them with the initial rate shown during label creation (recorded manually if needed).

This process helps you manually tally and verify shipping costs, although the system itself does not provide retrospective price lookups for existing labels.

How can I use the "Calculate Cost" option on orders to choose a different FedEx shipping service before generating the label?

How can I test if plugin conflicts or server restrictions are causing the FedEx shipment label creation to fail?

  2. Attempt to create a FedEx shipment label again. If successful, reactivate plugins one-by-one, testing label creation each time, to identify the conflicting plugin.
  3. If this does not resolve the issue, check with your hosting provider whether any server-level security or firewall rules may block outbound FedEx API calls or restrict your site’s access URLs. Request temporary lifting of restrictions or whitelisting of plugin URLs.
  4. Use a staging site environment to safely perform these tests without affecting your live store.
  5. Provide PluginHive support with access to the staging environment for assisted troubleshooting if needed.

How can I stop paying for FedEx label printing if I do not need to generate shipping labels using the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin?

You cannot separate or remove the label printing feature from the plugin subscription because the subscription covers the entire plugin license, updates, and support, not individual features. However, if you do not want to generate FedEx shipping labels for your WooCommerce orders, you can simply stop using the label printing functionality or disable it entirely within the plugin settings. This means you will not create labels through the plugin but still retain live shipping rates and tracking features. Disabling the label printing feature does not reduce your subscription cost, as the subscription is for the full plugin license.

How can I set up the FedEx shipping plugin to automatically print shipping labels when orders are placed? Does it also print the packing or pick list for the order?

  1. Go to the plugin settings page within your WooCommerce admin panel.

  3. After saving your settings, place a new order to verify that the label is automatically created.

How can I restrict FedEx shipping options to certain zip codes when using the FedEx with Print Label plugin, given that WooCommerce Shipping Zones do not affect FedEx shipping methods?

The FedEx plugin displays shipping options regardless of the shipping address or WooCommerce Shipping Zones. To restrict FedEx shipping to specific zip codes, use the "PH Hide WooCommerce Shipping Methods & Rate Adjustment" plugin together with the FedEx plugin. This plugin allows you to hide or show FedEx shipping methods on the cart and checkout pages based on WooCommerce Shipping Zones, where you can define specific zip codes. Additionally, it offers advanced control to manage shipping methods by various criteria such as:

  1. WooCommerce Shipping Zone (where you specify zip codes)
  2. Type of products purchased
  3. Total weight of all products in the cart
  4. Number of products in the cart
  5. Total price of products
  6. Coupons used by customers
  7. Different WordPress user roles

By setting up WooCommerce Shipping Zones with the targeted zip codes and configuring this plugin accordingly, you can effectively restrict FedEx shipping options to only those areas you wish to serve.

How can I restore FedEx shipping rates to show on my WooCommerce website using the PluginHive FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label?

  1. Ensure the plugin license is active. If the license is deactivated, no rates will be fetched. You can check and activate the license under FedEx Shipping → License Activation in the plugin settings.
  2. If you changed the license or plugin status (deactivate/reactivate), the license may get disabled automatically, so re-activate it as needed.
  3. If you still do not see rates:
  4. Provide PluginHive support with the product link, and the full shipping address you are testing with to help troubleshoot.
  5. Make sure no conflicting plugins interfere by temporarily deactivating all other shipping plugins except WooCommerce and the PluginHive FedEx plugin, then test rates.
  6. Confirm that your FedEx account number and credentials are correctly set in the plugin settings.

Following these steps resolves most issues with FedEx shipping rates not showing on your website.

  7. Go back to the FedEx Shipping Activation page.
  8. In the **API Key Activation** section, enter the valid license API key and the corresponding Product-ID.
  9. Save the changes to reactivate the license properly.

Following these steps refreshes the license status and resolves conflicts with API key recognition.

How can I resolve the "There are no shipping options available" error for a valid FedEx address in the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label?

  1. Real-Time Rates is enabled in the plugin settings to show live shipping options on the cart/checkout page.
  2. Product weights and dimensions are accurately entered, as missing data can cause the error.

  2. Update the recipient’s shipping address with the full and accurate state code.
  3. Once updated, try generating the shipping label manually again through the plugin.

How can I resolve the "FedEx Services Missing" warning when creating a new order and generating a shipping label in the backend?

The "FedEx Services Missing" warning typically occurs when essential order details are incomplete. To resolve this:

  1. Ensure the order has both a valid Billing Address and a Shipping Address added. Without these, the plugin cannot determine shipping services.
  2. Confirm that the order includes at least one Product item; an empty order will not allow label generation.
  3. After adding these details, follow the correct procedure to generate the FedEx shipping label:

For detailed steps, refer to the official PluginHive guide here: https://www.pluginhive.com/knowledge-base/setting-woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin/#print_first_fedex_label

Following these steps should eliminate the warning and allow successful shipping label creation.

  1. **Update Plugins:** Ensure both the PluginHive FedEx Shipping and Print Label plugin and the Multi Vendor plugin are updated to their latest versions, as older versions may cause compatibility issues.
  2. **Avoid FedEx REST API Registration:** Do not register for FedEx REST API credentials separately while using the Multi Vendor plugin; this can interfere with plugin functioning.
  3. **Verify Plugin Settings:** Double-check the "ShipFrom Address Preference" in the FedEx plugin settings to make sure it is set to use vendor shipping addresses rather than the admin store’s origin address so labels are sent correctly to vendors.
  4. **Test After Updates:** After updating and verifying settings, test by placing new orders and checking if vendors receive shipping labels and shipping rates are calculated correctly.

How can I properly configure my Zebra Thermal Printer settings to avoid printing labels as small PDFs and ensure correct label sizing?

To correctly configure your Zebra Thermal Printer for proper label printing, follow these steps:

  1. Verify that your PluginHive plugin license is activated. An inactive license can cause printing issues.
  2. Update your PluginHive plugin to the latest version (at least version 7.1.3) to ensure compatibility and optimal functionality.
  3. Avoid printing labels by saving them as PDFs first, as PDF sizing may not match thermal printer requirements.
  4. Instead, configure the plugin to generate ZPL II label format, which is the native language for Zebra printers.
  5. Ensure that your Zebra printer is set up to receive ZPL II files directly via network or USB.
  6. If you save the label as a ZPL II file, configure your system or printing software to send the file directly to the printer without opening it in another program. This may involve setting the default program for .ZPL files or using command line/printing utilities to send the file.
  7. Adjust label dimensions and custom sizing settings in the plugin dashboard to precisely match your physical label size; double-check these settings in the Zebra printer driver as well.
  8. Test printing a label directly from the plugin after license activation and updates to verify appropriate label size and print quality.

Following these steps will help eliminate issues with small PDF prints and streamline printing directly to your Zebra Thermal Printer.

How can I print the "Sold To" information on the Commercial Invoice generated by the FedEx plugin?

The FedEx plugin’s Commercial Invoice auto-fills EXPORTER, CONSIGNEE, and IMPORTER fields but does not have a separate "Sold To" field. In this case, the EXPORTER information is considered as the "Sold To" party. Since the plugin does not provide a distinct "Sold To" entry, ensure that the EXPORTER details you enter represent your "Sold To" data if you want that information reflected on the Commercial Invoice.

How can I print shipping labels so that they fit on a single page without being cut off when printing from the browser?

  1. Set the custom scaling value to 85% in the plugin settings under the Bulk Printing option. Save the changes.
  2. In the browser’s print preview dialog, disable the “Header & Footer” option. This prevents extra margins that push the label to a second page.
  3. Adjust your printer settings to match the paper size you use (e.g., Letter 8.5 x 11 inches) rather than assuming A4 paper. Consult your printer support if necessary.

How can I obtain a summary of all FedEx shipments along with their respective shipping charges using the PluginHive FedEx Label Creator plugin?

Currently, the PluginHive FedEx Label Creator plugin does not provide a consolidated shipment summary or a report that includes all shipments and their shipping charges. You can view the shipment details, including shipping charges, individually on the Edit Order page within WooCommerce. To display shipping charges on the commercial invoice, enable the "Shipping Charges in Commercial Invoice" option found under the International Form settings in the plugin. However, for a consolidated report, you will need to use additional tools, as the plugin itself does not offer this feature.

How can I manually regenerate FedEx shipping labels when they do not generate automatically?

  1. Open the order for which the label has not been generated.
  2. Follow the plugin interface to manually create the shipping label for that order.
  3. If there are errors preventing label generation, the plugin will display them during this process.

How can I manually change the ship date on individual shipping labels instead of relying on the plugin’s automatic next-day date setting?

Currently, the plugin does not provide a direct option to manually set or edit the ship date for each individual label at print time. However, you can adjust the overall ship date timing by using the "Time Zone Offset (Minutes)" feature available in the plugin settings under the Label Generation tab. This feature allows you to delay the ship date by a specified number of minutes. For example, to delay the ship date by 2 days, enter 2880 minutes (48 hours × 60 minutes). This modifies the automatic date setting but applies globally to all labels rather than individually. For individual label date changes, manual editing within the plugin is not supported at this time.

How can I know which configuration changes were made to fix label generation issues for future reference?

  • The support team disabled the USMCA Certificate option under International Forms because required Blanket Period Begin and End Dates were missing, which caused label generation to fail.
  • Keeping a record of such changes in your internal documentation or ticketing system helps you understand what configurations impact label generation and how to adjust them in the future.
  • Regularly review plugin settings after updates or business process changes to ensure mandatory fields are filled or disabled if not applicable.

How can I ensure that the shipping method selected by the customer at checkout is automatically used when generating the FedEx shipping label in WooCommerce?

The PluginHive FedEx WooCommerce plugin automatically selects the shipping service that the customer chose during checkout when you generate the shipping label on the order edit page. 1. Go to the WooCommerce Orders section in your WordPress admin.
  2. Open the specific order details of a completed purchase.
  3. Click to generate the FedEx shipping label.
  4. On the label generation screen, the shipping service dropdown or section will already reflect the shipping method chosen by the customer at checkout.
  5. If the shipping service appears blank or incorrect, this might indicate an issue that you can capture as a screencast to share with support for troubleshooting.

This setup streamlines your fulfillment workflow by eliminating the need for your team to manually choose the shipping method when printing labels.

  4. Save the settings and reprocess orders to see if the packaging and labels reflect the new configuration.

  3. For shipping label emails, configure the "Send Shipping Label To" setting by selecting the "Shipper" option. This setup attaches the shipping label to the appropriate email.
  4. Note that the "New Order" email is generated by WooCommerce itself, not the PluginHive FedEx plugin. Therefore, if you are not receiving these emails, the issue likely lies in your WooCommerce or website email configuration.

  6. Regularly update shipping method configurations to reflect any changes in FedEx offerings or your account services to maintain compatibility.

How can I check the shipping cost paid for auto-generated FedEx labels within the PluginHive system after the label is created?

Currently, PluginHive does not provide a feature to view or retrieve the shipping cost or price associated with generated FedEx labels directly within the system or plugin interface. The shipping charges can only be confirmed by reviewing the official invoice issued by FedEx, which summarizes all costs after the labels have been used. To ensure accurate rate calculations, verify that the package weight and dimensions entered during label creation are correct, as discrepancies here can lead to differences between the displayed rates and final invoiced amounts.

How can I assist PluginHive support in diagnosing label creation errors with the FedEx plugin?

To assist PluginHive support in resolving FedEx label creation errors, you should:

1. Share specific order numbers (or a representative set) that are causing the label creation issues, especially when bulk selecting multiple orders.

2. Confirm and give explicit permission for the support team to access your site and attempt generating labels to replicate the issue.

3. If possible, provide relevant videos, screenshots, or detailed descriptions of the error during label creation.

This collaborative information helps the support team reproduce and investigate the problems more effectively, leading to a quicker resolution.

How can I adjust the margins or scaling of the shipping label when printing from the browser, since changing the scaling percentage (e.g., from 100% to 90% or 50%) did not affect the margins or label size?

PluginHive’s label printing relies on the browser’s print dialog and settings, so to adjust margins properly:

  1. Open the shipping label in the browser using the enabled "Display labels in browser" option.
  2. When the print dialog opens, look for the “Margins” settings (usually found in the print setup or page settings).
  3. Set margins to "Default" or "Normal" instead of "Minimum" or "None" to ensure there is space around the edges.
  4. If your browser’s scaling options do not affect the label size, try manually adjusting the scale percentage in the print dialog to a value that fits the label correctly.
  5. Additionally, check your printer’s page setup or properties to ensure no forced margin settings are applied.
  6. If margins still don’t appear correctly, consider using a PDF viewer (like Adobe Acrobat Reader) to print the label with customized margin settings outside the browser.

Note: The plugin itself may not provide built-in margin controls beyond generating the label. Adjustments are mainly done through browser or printer settings. If problems persist, providing a screenshot and detailed steps you follow can help diagnose specific issues.

  1. Go to the PluginHive FedEx plugin settings and open the **Rates & Services** tab.

  3. Disable or exclude the live pricing for this service so it does not fetch live FedEx rates for Overnight.
  4. Add a custom flat rate charge for overnight delivery, either within the plugin if supported or by creating a separate WooCommerce shipping method/class with a fixed $ amount for Overnight service.
  5. Customers will see the flat-rate option for overnight delivery as a distinct selectable shipping method during checkout.
  6. Bulk label generation via WooCommerce will continue to operate normally, as this flat rate option is integrated without interfering with the automatic label creation or selection workflows.

How can I add a company name to the shipping label printed using the PluginHive FedEx plugin?

No, the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label does **not** have a limit on the number of shipping labels you can generate. You can print as many FedEx labels as needed. Does the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label allow me to use my own FedEx account with special company pricing to display live FedEx shipping rates to my customers?

Yes, the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label enables you to integrate your personal FedEx account. This integration allows the plugin to fetch live shipping rates directly from your FedEx account, including any special company pricing you have set up. These rates will then be displayed accurately on your customers’ cart and checkout pages, ensuring they see the precise shipping costs based on your negotiated rates with FedEx.

Does the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label support calculating Dangerous Goods (DG) surcharges in real-time shipping rates at checkout?

  1. Enable and specify the Dangerous Goods fields under each product’s FedEx Shipping Details in the Edit Product page. This includes filling out all required DG information such as Hazard Class, Proper Shipping Name, UN number, etc.
  2. For battery products or hazardous materials, set the "Dangerous Goods Option Type" to "Hazardous Materials" and disable the "Battery Product" option if applicable.
  3. Be aware that hazardous material packages can only be shipped via FedEx Ground service. FedEx Home Delivery service will not be available for such shipments; instead, FedEx Ground service with any applicable residential delivery surcharges will be returned and reflected in the shipping cost.
  4. Confirm that your FedEx account configuration supports Dangerous Goods shipments, as some services might be restricted based on account settings.

Does the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin have a test mode for testing label generation and shipments?

There is no specific test mode available for the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin. To test, you can generate a shipping label normally and later void the shipment if needed. Once you successfully receive FedEx shipping rates at checkout and generate a label, it indicates that the orders are synchronized correctly with the FedEx system.

Does the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin automatically print FedEx labels when an order is received, or is label printing manual during order processing?

Label printing is a manual process; however, the plugin offers both automatic and manual label generation features. While the plugin can automatically generate labels for orders, the actual printing of those labels must be initiated manually when processing the order.

Does the PluginHive plugin allow customers to request and print return shipping labels for products they have already ordered?

Additionally, customers can access and print their return shipping labels directly from the My Account page on your store. This enables customers to initiate returns conveniently for products they have already purchased.

Does the PluginHive Multi-Carrier Shipping Plugin support label printing? If not, how can I print shipping labels?

  1. Log in to your respective carrier’s official website (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, Stamps.com) to generate and print shipping labels manually.
  2. Alternatively, use a third-party label printing plugin compatible with WooCommerce that integrates with your carriers.
  3. If you require built-in label printing directly within WooCommerce, consider using the dedicated PluginHive FedEx Shipping Plugin, which includes label generation and printing features.

Does the PluginHive Multi Carrier Shipping Plugin support USPS label printing for vendors?

No, the PluginHive Multi Carrier Shipping Plugin allows displaying live USPS shipping rates in WooCommerce but does **not** support shipping label generation for USPS or any other carriers. If label generation is required alongside live rate fetching, you need to use the WooCommerce Shipping Services plugin with a supported multi-vendor platform like WCFM Marketplace.

No, the PluginHive FedEx Shipping and Print Label plugin does not support direct label generation and printing capabilities from the vendor’s dashboard in the WCFM Multi-Vendor environment. 1. The PluginHive FedEx plugin operates only in production mode using live credentials obtained during registration.
  2. There is no separate test mode or environment in the plugin to toggle.
  3. Approval from FedEx on label submissions does not trigger any plugin state changes.
  4. After FedEx’s approval (if requested), you continue shipping normally using the plugin as configured.
  5. To update credentials after changes, you must manually re-register within the plugin, but a mode switch is unnecessary.

This design simplifies the shipping setup and eliminates confusion over test and production environments.

Does the PluginHive FedEx plugin automatically create shipments and labels, or do I need to manually generate or select FedEx services?

  1. You can configure default FedEx shipping services (e.g., FedEx 2 Day) for both domestic and international shipments in the plugin settings.
  2. Once configured, when an order is placed, the plugin automatically generates the shipping label using the default service, eliminating the need to log into FedEx or select services manually.
  3. For bulk or individual labels, printing is done from within WooCommerce without visiting FedEx’s system.
  4. However, the plugin does not automatically schedule FedEx pickup requests or update shipment processing statuses in FedEx’s system. These steps must be handled separately.
  5. Ensure default service settings are correct and label generation triggers are enabled for fully automated shipment creation within WooCommerce.

However, you can achieve this functionality by using the plugin in combination with WooCommerce Shipping Multiple Addresses or YITH Multiple Shipping Addresses for WooCommerce. These third-party plugins allow customers to assign different shipping addresses to each product in an order. The FedEx plugin is compatible with these solutions and will generate shipping labels based on the specific shipping address assigned to each product through those plugins.

Does the "WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label" support flat rate shipping for specific areas?

Yes, the plugin allows you to configure WooCommerce shipping zones where you can assign flat rates to specific geographic areas. This means you can create zones based on regions or postal codes and set a fixed shipping cost for each designated area.

Does PluginHive support automatic label generation at the time of customer checkout for Canada Post and FedEx shipments?

PluginHive’s FedEx shipping plugin supports automatic label generation at the time of customer checkout if the customer chooses FedEx shipping. This feature allows labels to be generated automatically when an order is placed, so you only need to print the label during shipping without manually creating each label. However, the Canada Post shipping plugin currently does not support automatic label generation at checkout. For the FedEx plugin automatic label generation setup and usage, refer to this guide: https://www.pluginhive.com/knowledge-base/setting-woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin/#auto_label_printing

Does PluginHive offer a free license for staging or non-public testing environments when purchasing a single-site license for the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label?

A single-site license is valid for use only on one site, and PluginHive does not offer a free license specifically for non-public staging or testing environments. However, they may provide a discount on subsequent purchases as a goodwill gesture. For example, they offer a 15% discount on the next purchase and may provide coupon codes upon request.

Does creating a shipping label via the FedEx API method generate any entries or records in the FedEx web portal interface?

No, creating a shipping label through the FedEx API does not generate any entries or records within the FedEx web portal or user interface. The FedEx UI does not register or display shipments created via API calls; only tracking and shipment status are accessible externally via tracking numbers.

Do I need to complete FedEx’s shipping label certification if I have configured the plugin with the Live API key?

No, you do not need to perform FedEx’s shipping label certification for test API shipping labels if you have completed the direct registration and are using the Live API key. PluginHive is already certified by FedEx for live shipping label generation. As per PluginHive’s process, once you are in Live mode with a direct FedEx registration, the certification step is not required.

Do I need both the PluginHive WooCommerce Shipping Services for FedEx and the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label installed?

No, you do not need both plugins. PluginHive WooCommerce Shipping Services for FedEx has been discontinued since January 2024. You only need to use the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label, which is the actively maintained and updated solution.

  1. Ensure you have updated the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label to the latest version (currently 7.1.3).
  2. Activate your license by configuring the "Product API Key" and "Product ID" under WordPress Settings → FedEx Activation Page and save changes.
  3. Obtain your API key and Product ID from your account at pluginhive.com → My Account → API Keys.
  4. After activation, check for plugin updates via WordPress Dashboard → Updates → Check Again to receive automatic updates.

This setup helps maintain plugin functionality, ensures timely updates, and supports FedEx shipping services properly.

Do I need any additional plugins to use the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label?

No, you do not need any other plugins alongside the WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Print Label. This plugin alone fully automates FedEx shipping by displaying shipping rates on the cart and checkout pages, allowing you to pay postage and print shipping labels directly within WooCommerce. It also automatically detects the packaging boxes for your items and enables shipment tracking, providing a complete solution for managing FedEx shipments from your WooCommerce store.

Do I always have to manually generate the package and choose the FedEx service, or can this process be automated in the PluginHive FedEx plugin?

  2. Select the option "Default service for domestic & international shipments" to set your preferred default shipping service.
  3. Enable the automatic label generation features as outlined in the plugin settings.

Can the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin be used to semi-automate shipping label creation with pre-populated data that can be printed manually? Also, can it charge a flat Shipping & Handling Fee instead of the calculated FedEx shipping rate?

Can the PluginHive team assist in troubleshooting issues caused by customizations or caching problems on the checkout page that affect shipping rates and label generation?

  1. If the issue is caused by custom-coded plugins (like a custom Sonoma Shipping plugin) or external caching mechanisms outside PluginHive plugins, their ability to directly fix these may be limited.
  2. It is advisable to provide detailed site access and examples of the issues, so support can identify if the problem relates to PluginHive plugins or external factors.
  3. For caching issues impacting checkout functionality and rates, consider these steps:
  4. PluginHive may offer paid support or consultancy for complex troubleshooting after assessing the problem scope.

Can the PluginHive plugin provide FedEx label options corresponding to specific delivery days, such as First Overnight or Priority Overnight for both Saturday and Monday delivery, based on the selected shipment date?

Currently, the PluginHive plugin cannot offer all the detailed FedEx label options like First Overnight or Priority Overnight explicitly tied to both Saturday and Monday deliveries after selecting a date. The proposed customization allows users to select just the shipment date for forward and return shipments on the Edit Order page and includes the option for Saturday Delivery for forward shipments only. However, the full range of FedEx service options displayed by FedEx’s official portal (e.g., showing the same service with Saturday and Monday delivery variants) is not supported at this time. Supporting these additional delivery day options would require significant plugin modifications across multiple areas, including Cart/Checkout and label generation.

Can the PluginHive plugin generate FedEx labels with shipment dates beyond 10 days in the future?

No. FedEx’s API restricts label generation to a maximum of 10 days from the current date. Therefore, the plugin’s customization will only allow selecting shipment dates within this 10-day window for both forward and return shipping labels.

Can the PluginHive FedEx shipping label plugin print WooCommerce order notes such as gift notes directly on the FedEx shipping label?

Currently, the PluginHive FedEx shipping label plugin does not support printing WooCommerce order notes directly on FedEx shipping labels. The FedEx label layout and API do not provide a designated space for such custom messages within the label itself. To include order notes or gift messages, you would typically need to generate a separate packing slip or gift note via custom coding in your theme or plugin.

However, FedEx Ship Manager software supports manual entry of certain custom notes fields on labels, but this functionality is not directly integrated into the PluginHive plugin.

Can the PluginHive FedEx shipping label plugin print order notes, such as "gift notes" added by customers in WooCommerce, on the shipping label? If custom coding is required, how can this be done? Also, is there any special setup needed to print labels using Zebra thermal printers?

FedEx shipping labels generated by the PluginHive plugin do not have a designated field to include order notes like "gift notes" from WooCommerce, and the label layout typically does not have enough space to display such additional information. Therefore, the plugin itself cannot print order notes directly on FedEx labels.

If you want to include order notes on printed documents, consider creating a custom solution by adding code to your theme’s functions.php or a custom plugin to generate a separate printable packing slip or gift note that includes this information.

Regarding printing FedEx shipping labels with Zebra thermal printers, there is no special setup required within the plugin itself, but you should follow the recommended guidelines and procedures for printing with Zebra printers. For detailed instructions, refer to the PluginHive knowledge base article "Print FedEx Shipping Labels Using Zebra Thermal Printers" available at: https://www.pluginhive.com/knowledge-base/print-fedex-shipping-labels-using-zebra-thermal-printers/

This resource provides step-by-step guidance to ensure proper configuration and successful label printing on Zebra devices.

Can the PluginHive FedEx plugin support bulk label printing during ongoing issues with third-party libraries related to FedEx integration?

  • Individual label printing remains fully functional and recommended as a workaround.
  • Bulk label printing is fully supported in PluginHive’s “WooCommerce Shipping Services” (WSS) solution, a separate monthly subscription service starting at $9/month.
  • PluginHive offers a complimentary trial period for WSS as a goodwill gesture for customers needing bulk printing functionality.

Can the plugin automate printing multiple shipping labels based on packaging, for example, one label for FedEx Padded Pak orders and multiple labels for larger orders requiring multiple packages?

Yes. The plugin automatically generates shipping labels once an order is placed. The number of labels generated corresponds to the number of packages calculated for the order. For instance, if your order requires one package (like a FedEx Padded Pak), only one label is printed. If the order requires multiple packages due to size or quantity, the plugin will generate multiple labels accordingly, automating the process based on packaging needs.

Can the FedEx plugin generate a return label from the US to the recipient and email it to the US sender?

Information regarding the generation of return labels from the US to the recipient and emailing them to the US sender is not confirmed. Further details would need to be provided by the support team. Currently, only the forward shipment label creation (sending label to recipient) is supported.

Can the $100 basic WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for Fedex with Print Label package support shipping modular products packed into multiple boxes and generate customs invoices?

The $100 basic package does not support shipping modular products packed into multiple boxes nor does it generate customs invoices. To ship products in multiple boxes with varying weights and dimensions, you need the "Add More Shipping Fields" add-on, which allows setting multiple weights and dimensions for WooCommerce products to simplify multi-box shipping. This add-on costs $200 separately and is not included in the basic package. Regarding customs invoices, there is currently no PluginHive solution available that automatically generates customs invoices containing product origin, HS codes, weights, and customs values.

Can setting my payment gateway to test mode cause FedEx shipment label generation or tracking errors?

  1. Ensure test orders have complete and correct shipping data (weights, dimensions, packaging).
  2. Address any FedEx-specific errors separately by reviewing the plugin settings and debug logs.

Can PluginHive support creating multiple shipping labels and multiple return labels for a single order by adding additional "Create Shipment" and "Generate Return Label" buttons?

PluginHive currently does not offer this functionality out-of-the-box. However, the platform can be customized to add additional "Create Shipment" and "Generate Return Label" buttons to allow for multiple shipping labels and return labels per order. This is especially useful in scenarios where documents are forgotten either by the customer or the merchant. Please note this enhancement is considered a paid customization due to its complexity and feasibility needs to be evaluated by the development team.

  4. Test label generation on a sample order to isolate if the plugin or account settings require adjustment.

Can I perform a test order without incurring Stripe payment processing fees to verify the plugin’s label email feature?

While testing orders usually incur payment gateway fees, PluginHive support requests that you share a 100% discount coupon code for test orders so they can place orders without actual payment. This enables them to generate shipping labels for diagnostics without you incurring Stripe fees. Sharing admin access and the coupon code allows PluginHive to replicate the issue and check the label email flow properly. If providing coupon codes or admin access is not feasible, ensure your own test orders complete fully and share order details with support for further assistance.

Can I get a developer license to set up the FedEx print label plugin on a staging site before going live, instead of purchasing a new license?

If you want to use the FedEx print label plugin on both a live and a staging/development site, you will need to have two licenses—one license per website. Yes, the PluginHive FedEx plugin allows customers to generate their own return labels directly from their "My Account" page on your WooCommerce store. You can find detailed information and purchase the plugin here: https://www.pluginhive.com/product/woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin-with-print-label/

Can bulk shipping label printing be done in PluginHive without manually selecting the shipping service on each order?

  2. Verify that your store’s default shipping method(s) correspond to valid FedEx services supported by your account to avoid "Invalid service type" errors.
  3. During bulk label generation, the plugin uses the shipping service already selected in each order; therefore, prior individual selection is not required if the shipping methods are correctly configured.
  4. If some orders lack these valid services, intermittent errors will force manual correction on those specific orders only.

Can a user account be created that only has access to orders and the FedEx Shipment Label option in the PluginHive FedEx plugin?

Within the PluginHive FedEx plugin, access to orders and FedEx shipment labels is limited exclusively to users with the Shop Manager or Administrator roles. 3. To monitor the status of your shipments, always use the tracking number generated by the plugin on the official FedEx tracking page.

  • Use these steps fully when learning the process to understand how package details and shipping rates work.
  • Skip one or both steps for quicker label generation, especially after you are familiar with the process or when using bulk label creation.

Plugins support workflows ranging from detailed manual controls to streamlined automated label creation, allowing flexibility based on your preferences.

  • Check that Delivery Confirmation is set to "Service Default" or "None".

3. Test label generation again by creating a new order and trying to generate a FedEx label.

4. If issues persist, consider providing admin access and order details to support for further investigation.

Following these steps will help isolate the problem and restore FedEx label creation functionality.

Will shipping labels created via the FedEx Shipping API show up in my FedEx account under the “Labels Created” section or elsewhere in the FedEx website interface?

No, shipping labels generated through the FedEx Shipping API will not appear in your FedEx account's “Labels Created” filter or anywhere else within the FedEx website interface. FedEx has confirmed that labels created via their API are not listed or stored in the FedEx UI under your account. However, you can always track these shipments using the Tracking ID on the FedEx website. To do this, simply enter the provided tracking number on the FedEx tracking page to view the shipment status, but the label itself or its creation record will not be accessible through your FedEx account dashboard.

Why is the "Label Generation" tab in the WooCommerce FedEx plugin not clickable even though my FedEx account is connected and rates appear correctly?

  1. Clear or purge the cache on your hosting platform or any caching plugins you are using.
  2. For example, if you are hosted on Pressable and using the Edge Cache, clearing that cache will restore functionality to the "Label Generation" tab.

Why does the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label use PluginHive credentials instead of my FedEx API credentials, causing higher shipping rates than my FedEx account?

The plugin by default may not use your FedEx API credentials correctly if some configurations are not set properly, leading to discrepancies in shipping rates. To ensure your store retrieves rates directly from your FedEx account, follow these steps:

  1. Set the **“Request Type”** in the plugin settings to **“Account Rates”**. This ensures that the plugin queries FedEx using your account specifics.
  2. Verify the accuracy of your **Shipper & Recipient addresses**, and ensure that **package weight and dimensions** are correctly configured. Incorrect details can cause rate mismatches.
  3. Check the **Insured Value Indicator** setting in the plugin. This can influence the FedEx rate calculation.
  4. Always compare plugin rates to the official FedEx website rates using identical shipment details to identify inconsistencies.
  5. If the issue continues, enable **“Debug Mode”** in the FedEx plugin settings, reproduce the rate retrieval, then generate and submit a **Diagnostic Report** via the plugin’s "Help & Support" page.
  6. Additionally, log into your FedEx account and take a screenshot displaying the shipment address details and package information alongside the FedEx-calculated rates. This documentation will assist support in troubleshooting the issue.

By carefully verifying these settings and providing the diagnostic information, you can resolve discrepancies caused by the plugin not properly using your FedEx API credentials.

Where do I set up or enter my FedEx account details in the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin with Print Label?

  1. Navigate to **WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → FedEx** (or directly to the FedEx plugin settings page).
  2. In this section, enter your FedEx account number, meter number, authentication key, and password as required.
  3. Note that placeholder fields like "phiveAccountNumber" will appear but are non-functional and should be replaced with your actual FedEx credentials.
  4. Ensure you are operating in the correct mode (Test/Sandbox or Production) based on your FedEx account setup.

When I create a FedEx shipment label via the PluginHive plugin, why does the shipment appear as if it’s shipped by another carrier in my FedEx account?

The PluginHive FedEx plugin uses the official FedEx API to perform all shipping functions — including fetching rates, generating labels, assigning tracking numbers, and scheduling pickups. If your shipment appears to be processed by another carrier in your FedEx account, please clarify the source of this observation as this is unusual. Typically, all transactions generated through the plugin will be recorded under your FedEx account with no third-party carrier involvement. If you provide specific details or screenshots, support can assist further with investigating the issue.

What steps should I take after re-registering my FedEx account number to ensure shipping labels and rate calculations work correctly?

  1. Clear any cached data or sessions in your system to avoid stale information.
  2. Enable Debug Mode in the plugin settings to monitor any ongoing issues.
  3. Attempt to calculate shipping rates and generate shipping labels for test orders.
  4. Review logs for any errors; if none appear, your setup is correct.
  5. If errors persist, generate and share a Diagnostic Report with PluginHive support for further assistance.
  6. Confirm wordPress user permissions are correct if support access is requested.

What should I do if I am having issues generating FedEx labels even though the debug logs show a successful response?

  1. Confirm that all FedEx account credentials (API key, account number, meter number) are correctly entered in the plugin settings.
  2. Verify that the shipment details (weight, dimensions, recipient address) are complete and valid.
  3. Check if any special services requested (e.g., signature options) are correctly configured.
  4. If everything appears correct and the problem persists, provide the specific order number to PluginHive support and allow them permission to generate the label. This will help the technical team to investigate the issue in detail and provide a resolution.

Should FedEx shipping labels be generated through the PluginHive plugin on a WordPress site or directly via the FedEx account, and why?

It is recommended to generate FedEx shipping labels through the PluginHive plugin within your WordPress site rather than printing labels directly from your FedEx account. Generating labels using the plugin offers an integrated solution that aligns the shipping rates charged to customers with the label-generated rates, reducing discrepancies. It also improves shipment processing efficiency directly on your website. It is advisable to conduct test shipments and compare label rates with checkout rates when using the plugin for label generation.

How can I validate and correct my FedEx account details if the PluginHive plugin is unable to fetch rates or generate labels?

  1. Log in to your FedEx account on the official FedEx website.
  2. Verify that your FedEx account number is correct and active.
  3. Check your contact information, including billing address and email, ensuring they are accurate.
  4. Contact FedEx support or your FedEx account representative to rectify any discrepancies.
  5. Update the account number and contact details in the PluginHive plugin settings accordingly.
  6. After correction, re-register your FedEx account within the plugin and test label generation and rate calculation again.

How can I ensure that all my sites and their PluginHive licenses are correctly linked to FedEx account registrations to prevent shipping and label issues?

  1. For each WooCommerce site using PluginHive, open the FedEx plugin settings and navigate to the Registration section.
  2. Verify that the license key is active and associated with the FedEx account credentials configured there.
  3. If linkage is missing or incorrect, manually link the license to the correct FedEx account registration by re-entering credentials or using the plugin’s re-registration options.
  4. Clear caches and deactivate/reactivate the plugin after re-linking to ensure changes take effect.
  5. Test shipping rate calculation and label generation on each site individually.
  6. Maintain documentation of which license corresponds to which site and FedEx account to streamline troubleshooting.

How am I charged for shipping labels when using the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx shipping plugin? Are charges billed to my FedEx account or my PluginHive account?

  1. When you generate a shipping label through the PluginHive WooCommerce FedEx plugin, the shipping cost is charged to the payment gateway linked with your FedEx account.
  2. The PluginHive plugin itself does not charge you any fees for generating labels—the charges solely come from FedEx based on your shipment details.
  3. No charges occur at the time of order placement for shipping; fees apply only when the shipping label is actually created.
  4. The billing for those shipping labels goes to your FedEx account as per your FedEx contract and account setup.

Does the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin require API keys to connect to FedEx, or is the FedEx account number sufficient for integration and label generation?

  1. Enter your FedEx account number into the plugin configuration to enable communication with FedEx services.
  2. Once your FedEx direct registration is completed (through PluginHive’s activation process), the plugin handles all integration and label generation without additional credential inputs.
  3. This ensures labels generated via the WooCommerce order page are sent directly to FedEx using the linked account number.

Can PluginHive help me create test labels quickly for FedEx approval if I have a deadline today?

While PluginHive cannot generate separate test labels as the plugin is already production-ready, you can meet your deadline by:

  1. Completing your FedEx account registration within the plugin settings if not done already.
  2. Placing a live test order on your WooCommerce store and generating a live shipping label using the PluginHive plugin.
  3. Sharing this live label with the FedEx team for approval, which acts as the test label in their process.
  4. If you encounter any difficulty generating the label, verify API registration and plugin settings, disable conflicting plugins/themes if necessary, and retry.
  5. Contact PluginHive support promptly with detailed information if label creation issues persist.

This process ensures you can quickly submit the required shipping label to FedEx and comply with their test/approval procedure without waiting for plugin modifications.

Can I place test orders and print test shipping labels in the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin using FedEx developer test credentials?

Currently, the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin does not support FedEx developer test accounts or sandbox credentials for testing. If you attempt to register the plugin with FedEx test account credentials, you may encounter errors such as “3002 – Invalid billing address,” even if the billing address matches the FedEx account information. For testing purposes, you should use your standard live FedEx account credentials to generate shipping labels normally. After creating a label during the test order, you can void the label in your FedEx account to avoid charges. This method allows you to simulate the entire order-to-label printing process without needing a separate FedEx developer account or test credentials.

Are the labels generated by the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin created using my live FedEx account credentials or a test environment?

Labels generated by the PluginHive FedEx Shipping plugin use your live FedEx account credentials. There is no test mode or staging environment active that would generate labels outside your live account. However, shipments and labels generated via the FedEx Shipping API do not automatically display in your FedEx account dashboard until they are picked up and scanned by FedEx.
