Summary: What a great plugin. What great customer support. What a great overall customer experience!
WooCommerce Shipment Tracking Pro was my first paid plugin experience. I was using the free version (and several other free plugins from PluginHive), but really wanted the live tracking updates. All the other tracking plugins that I researched made you send customer info to a third party processor in order to get tracking updates. So I reluctantly purchased it, but could not get the pro features to work on my site. Also, I did not realize that the main feature I wanted was only developed for the USPS and Canada Post. So I was disappointed and asked for a refund.
Anindo was assigned to my request and promptly offered to refund, but respectfully asked if he could help me get it working. After I explained that I did not read the fine print and that USPS was the only US carrier that was supported for live tracking status and that I needed UPS and FedEx, he reassured me that they would get those carriers developed within a week. So, cautiously, I decided to stick with it and wait for it to be developed.
In the meantime, Anindo helped me troubleshoot why the pro version wasn’t taking effect on my live site. Due to our company’s security policy, I was not allowed to let him log in as an Administrator to our WordPress site, which made it more difficult to troubleshoot, but he stayed with me and helped as much as he could. I set up a test site and their pro plugin worked fine on it until I moved my functions.php file from the live site to the test site. It broke the upgrading to pro feature. By the process of elimination, I managed to find a snippet in my functions file that was interfering with their plugin registering the pro version. He provided me an edited version of my snippet that would allow their plugin to work correctly, and it worked.
The main problem solved, I now was able to see the tracking status for USPS. I was still waiting for UPS and FedEx. But, USPS tracking status was surprisingly disappointing, it didn’t have any history, only the last status. And when UPS did get developed, it only showed vague status, no date, or locations.
At this point, I was ready to give up on tracking updates (almost a month had gone by and my boss wanted me to move on). My live site now showed me what the pro plugin could do, but my boss was not satisfied with it and didn’t think it was worth implementing since it didn’t give a complete history. I didn’t think it was proper to expect PluginHive to do extra features like tracking history (especially since they had already invested so much time helping me, and their plugin does what it claims to do, the problem was on my end), so I told them why I was not satisfied and wanted to switch my license to another one of their plugins. They said no problem, but I was again asked to give them a few days and they would have the complete tracking history. So, I’m like, really, sure, ok, why not? It would be awesome if we could display the whole history so the customer doesn’t need to go to the shippers’ website.
A couple of days later, they now have the complete history of USPS working. However, UPS API did not give them a way to pull the history, so instead of giving up, they contact UPS, twice, and after another week, finally somehow got it to work.
To wrap it all up … I now can display complete tracking history for USPS, UPS, and FedEx tracking on a customer’s view-order page that will refresh when a customer either views their order or clicks a refresh link (there is an admin setting to choose). Also, it adds tracking number links in customer emails when the order is marked complete and has the ability to import tracking numbers (I do not use this feature). All this, without using a third-party website or subscription service.

This is a good investment for your Woocommerce website. Tracking capability is de facto today. I would be very put off if a store did not provide tracking. This plugin does exactly that. But more importantly especially for small business owners like me who wear multiple hats including web designer builder guy, developer support is paramount. These guys are 1) quick to respond, 2) cordial in their response, and 3) actually fixes the issue. I have purchased MANY plugins and in my experience, you normally get to pick 2 – if you are lucky.
