Offer Local Delivery Date Estimates to Three different Shipping Zones with WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin

Delivery Date Estimates

In this guide, we will tell you how you can offer local delivery date estimates for multiple Shipping Zones with WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin. We will take an example to help you understand the process better.

The Business Case – Local Delivery Date Estimates

The WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin is one of the best solutions to display delivery estimates for your WooCommerce products. You can display delivery estimates on Product, Cart/Checkout, Mini-Cart widget, and Shop page. Moreover, you can set the delivery estimate based on Shipping Zones, Classes, and even Methods.

One of our customers had a query where he wanted to set up Local Delivery shipping methods and wanted to provide estimates for them. Let’s check out his query and see how our plugin can solve his business case.

Hello. I offer Local Delivery as the shipping method on my online store. I have to deliver shipments to three different delivery zones with zip codes. In addition, I don’t offer delivery outside these three zones. Here’s my business case.

Zone 1 – Delivery only on Tuesday
Zone 2 – Delivery only on Wednesday
Zone 3 – Delivery only on Thursday

If a customer enters an address with a Zone 1 zip code then they can only pick “TUESDAY” delivery date.
If a customer enters an address with a Zone 2 zip code then they can only pick “WEDNESDAY” delivery date.
If a customer enters an address with a Zone 3 zip code then they can only pick “THURSDAY” delivery date.

I’m in need of a shipping/delivery plugin that will let me configure these options. Can your WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin fulfill such requirement? Please let me know.

Solution using WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin

WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin is designed to help you define multiple Shipping Zones. Under the Shipping Zones options, you should be able to define the zones based on your need. Have a look at the image below.

As you can see, you have four columns that you can use to define your Shipping Zones. But before you do that, you must set up other parts of the plugin. Check out the WooCommerce Estimated Delivery Date plugin documentation to know more.

Now coming back to the point, you can define the Id and Shipping Zone as shown in the image above. Next, jump to No Delivery On option and define the days when you don’t want to delivery. You can use the following rules to set up the plugin.

Zone 1 → Except for Tuesday, all other days will be No Delivery on in the settings.
Zone 2 → Except for Wednesday, all other days will be No Delivery on in the settings.
Zone 3 → Except for Thursday, all other days will be No Delivery on in the settings.

So this way, you should be able to show only the respective days for estimated delivery based on the Shipping Zones. And if your business requires, you may even set up rules for multiple Shipping Zones.
