WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Rates in Multiple Currencies

FedEx Shipping Rates in Multiple Currencies

In this article, we are going to discuss the integration of the WooCommerce Multi-Currency plugin with WooCommerce Shipping plugin for FedEx with Print Label. With this integration, your customers can see the live shipping rates in the currency of their choice on your WooCommerce store.

As a store owner, you would want to make your WooCommerce Store as user-friendly as possible which includes making the prices appear in the preferred currency. As we all know, one of the major reasons for the abandoned cart is the discrepancy in shipping rates due to the difference in the currency of your customers.

One way to avoid ambiguity in pricing is by displaying the prices based on the customer’s location and local currency. A good currency switcher solution like the WooCommerce Multi-Currency plugin will solve this problem.

What is WooCommerce Multi-Currency Plugin?

The WooCommerce Multi-Currency Plugin allows customers to choose a currency in which they would want the prices to be displayed on their WooCommerce store. It allows you to add multiple currencies to your WooCommerce store and re-calculate the prices based on the selected currency. The plugin uses the converted prices during the checkout process, so customers can pay for the order based on the chosen currency.

Using WooCommerce Shipping Plugin for FedEx with Multi-Currency Plugin

Many store owners use the WooCommerce Multi-Currency plugin to display the prices in the customer’s currency and the conversion of the shipping price plays a major role. As a result, there’s a huge demand to integrate the WooCommerce Multi-Currency solution with WooCommerce Shipping for FedEx with Print Label.

In the most recent version, the FedEx Shipping plugin for WooCommerce has been modified and made compatible with the Multi-Currency plugin.

How to set up the two plugins?

The setup process of both plugins is quite simple. You just need to download the plugins from here and then follow the onscreen instructions to install them.

Now, once you have installed the Multi-currency for WooCommerce extension, you need to go to the Configure option of the plugin. The settings page would look something like as shown in the following image:

Now, you need to select the “Service Provider” you want to use for the Exchange/Conversion of rates. WooCommerce Multi-Currency is capable of getting the rates from two providers: Currencylayer and OpenExchangeRates. Both providers have a free plan, you can opt for any of the providers. You need to create an account with any of these providers and get your free credentials:

As an example, we have chosen “Currencylayer” as the Service provider. After signing up with “Currencylayer”, you will receive an Access Key which you have to configure in the settings and save.

After this, you need to select the currencies you want to display in your store for your customers. And add the following shortcode- [woocommerce-currency-selector format=”{{code}}: {{name}} ({{symbol}})”] to your WooCommerce store or you can set this in your WooCommerce Widgets as shown:
