Configure the weight & dimensions for your products and choose the right packaging method
To calculate the accurate shipping rate for an order, it is very important that you configure the weight of the product correctly.
To set the weight and dimensions for your products, head to the “Product” section in the app.
Add the product weight and dimensions
In most cases, only weight is required to handle the packaging and calculate the accurate rates. So, by default, the app will calculate the rates based on the weight-based packaging method.
However, if the volumetric weight of your product is higher, you can add the dimensions of the product and choose an advanced packing method.
Weight-based packing
In this packing method, you can set a maximum weight (max.weight) for your box and the app automatically packs the maximum number of products in this box based on the max.weight.
Now, to configure the weight-based packaging method, head to App Settings --> Shipping --> Packaging. You can configure the max.weight of the box and the app will automatically handle the packaging based on that. If required, you can configure the box weight and also add a max.quantity that will be packed in a box.
However, if the volumetric weight of your product is higher, you can add the dimensions of the product and choose an advanced packing method.
The app allows you to choose from some of the most advanced packaging methods to efficiently pack your products into the boxes and save shipping costs. These packing methods include:
- Box Packing
A packing method based on both the weight & dimensions, where you can create your own boxes with custom weight & dimensions for your products. The app will automatically calculate the correct box size that fits your products and save you a lot of hassle. - Stack Packing
An advanced packing method based on the total height of the products, where the app calculates the correct box suitable for your products by stacking up all the products to a certain height. - Quantity Based Packing
Using this method, you can set up the packing based on the number of items that can be packed in one box. You can add a box based on your product dimensions and you can set the max quantity that can be packed in one box.

Purolator Special Services
Purolator Signature Types
Purolator offers several types of signatures or delivery confirmations for its shipping services, depending on the specific needs of the shipper and the recipient.
Adult Signature Required
Enabling this signature means it will require the recipient to provide proof of age through a government-issued photo ID at the time of delivery. This option is used for packages containing age-restricted items such as alcohol, tobacco, or other products that require an adult’s signature to receive.
Origin Signature not Required (OSNR)
This service allows shippers to send packages without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is an ideal option for businesses that are shipping to residential addresses or to recipients who may not be available to sign for their packages.
Residential
When a package is sent using Purolator Residential Signature, the recipient must sign for the package upon delivery. The signature is collected by the Purolator courier and serves as proof of delivery. This service is ideal for businesses that are shipping high-value or sensitive items to residential addresses.
Chain Of Signature
When a package is sent using the Purolator Chain of Signature, every person who handles the package along the delivery route is required to sign for it. This includes the Purolator courier who picks up the package, any sorting or distribution center personnel, and the final recipient. Each signature in the chain is recorded and can be viewed online through Purolator’s tracking system, providing shippers with a complete chain of custody for their package. It is an ideal option for businesses that are shipping high-value or sensitive items that require an additional level of security and accountability.
