Setting Up Shipping using Shopify Multi Vendor with Shipping App

This article will help you set up multi vendor multi carrier shipping on your Shopify store using Shopify Multi Vendor with Shipping app.

Setting Up Multiple Shipping Carriers

Pre-Requisite

In order to display live shipping rates on Shopify checkout page, any one of the following is required:

  • Shopify Plan with Advanced Annual Payment, or
  • Advanced Shopify plan, or
  • Shopify Plus plan, or
  • Shopify Calculated Shipping Plan Upgrade

Also, based on your preferences, you need to have

  • Shipping Carrier Account Details

How to set up Shipping Carriers?

Shopify Multi Vendor with Shipping app allows you to set up vendor’s shipping carriers in order to display real-time shipping rates on the Shopify checkout page.

Follow the steps below to set up vendor shipping carriers and enable live shipping rates on your Shopify store.

  • Visit the app settings and click on Extensions
  • Enable the Shipping Extensions option
  • Visit the Shipping Extensions tab and choose your vendor’s shipping carrier from the list of carriers shown below

  • Fill in the required shipping carrier details and click on Save
  • Follow the same steps for other vendors and set up their shipping carriers as well
  • Once all the shipping carriers are set up successfully, visit the Packages section to define the packing method
  • By default, the packing method is set to Weight Based Packing

Weight Based Packing – This packing method uses the weight of all the products in cart to calculate shipping rates.

  • Determine the Max Weight value. This weight will be the maximum individual package weight and if the total weight of all the products exceeds above max weight, then the additional products will be packed in the next package
  • Also, set the Weight and Dimension Units based on your preference
  • Once you have successfully set up the shipping carriers as well as the packing method, your customers will be able to see live shipping rates based on the vendor shipping address and carrier, as shown in the image below.
  • In case there are multiple vendor products, the app will automatically add the shipping rates for each vendor and display combined shipping estimates on the checkout page.

Shipping Label Automation

Shopify Multi Vendor with Shipping app allows you to set up automation rules that generate shipping labels automatically for your Shopify orders.

  • Visit the Shipping Extensions tab and click on Automation
  • Here you can set up automation rules that will help in generating shipping labels. All you need to do is create a new rule by clicking on Add New
  • Setting up an Automation Rule requires,
    1. Automation Criteria – the list of conditions that must be fulfilled in order for the rule to be selected. By default, the app allows you to set up automation rules based on the Product Quantity, Order Total Weight, Cart Total, and Vendor.
    2. Action Details – include the details of actions the app would take if the automation criteria are fulfilled. These actions include modification of product weight and dimensions, setting ship from address, adding insurance amount, and setting shipping carrier and services for shipping label generation.
  • Once you set up an automation rule, click on Save
  • Once the customers place an order, vendors can access the order from the vendor dashboard, as shown in the image below.
  • Vendors can mark the orders as Processing and Generate Shipping Labels directly from their vendor dashboards, as shown in the image below.

After successful label generation, vendors can mark the orders as Shipped with just a single click.

Once all the vendors mark their orders as Shipped, the app will automatically mark the whole order as Fulfilled and update the tracking details to the Shopify order.
